Scope of Work
Responsibilities:
The Clinical Custodian is responsible for ensuring that buildings and equipment are cleaned, orderly and sanitized.
1) Daily Cleaning activities:
- Dusts and wet mops all hard surface floors in all areas of patient care areas, administration areas and in restrooms, hallways, staircase, and offices.
- Dusts, cleans, and sanitizes all counter tops, window ledges and horizontal surfaces in exam room, public waiting rooms, and office spaces without disturbing employee belongings.
- Disinfects and sanitizes all doorknobs, chairs, and objects in contact with those in high traffic areas.
- Cleans glass surfaces and windows.
- Cleans and sanitizes all sinks and toilet basins.
- Ensures paper, hand sanitizer and soap dispensers are stocked and functional.
- Spot cleans and vacuums all carpeted areas.
- Remove trash from all rooms and place it in the dumpster provided at each location.
2)Weekly Cleaning activities:
- Check windows for large smudges, handprints, and dirt.
Clean when necessary.
- Check vents in ceilings and floor trim for dust accumulation.
- Rinse/wash trash cans as needed.
- 3)Supply control:
- Monitors janitorial supply inventory, and orders, as needed, per established procurement guidelines.
- Maintains janitorial equipment and storage areas in a clean and organized fashion.
4) Safety:
- Assures all cleaning supplies and equipment are put back after use each night.
- Takes training on OSHA, Blood Bourne Pathogens, and disinfecting of a medical facility.
- Forwards MSD sheets on all janitorial supplies to the safety coordinator.
- Wear PPE while performing job duties particularly in-patient care areas.
5) Attendance:
- Ensures attendance and hours worked are accurately recorded in computerized timekeeping system.
- Properly manages paid vacation and sick leave.
- Responsible for regular, predictable attendance and to work hours as scheduled, which may include evenings or weekends.
If the scheduled hours need to be changed at any time, the supervisor will be notified, and the change will need to be approved.

High School or Equivalent Work

1 year of custodial experience preferred Skills:

Basic janitorial knowledge.
- Basic organizational skills, typically to organize own work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team Effective November 17, 2021, all EVCHS employees, interns, subcontractors, and volunteers are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
