Assist with cash receipting functions, payment plan management, and collection efforts.
Monitors federal grants and provides assistance and support to federal grant administrators.

Vice President of Administrative Services, Director of Accounting Services/Controller, Business Office Staff, Financial Aid Staff, Student Services Staff, Students, Grant Administrators, Human Resources, Faculty and Staff Major Responsibilities / Assists With / Risk Management Major Responsibilities Process student tuition and fee payments.
Provide students with general information.
Support college Risk Management by adhering to FERPA Act 1974 guidelines.
Reconcile cash receipts to cash drawers.
Maintain petty cash fund.
Post miscellaneous cash receipts to appropriate General Ledger account.
Prepare billings and coordinate collection efforts for NSF checks, internal and external printing charges, and student accounts.
Follow through all reports of bankruptcy.
Maintain accurate business office restrictions on students.
Provide support to the Director of Accounting Services/Controller and other areas of the Business Office.
Responsible for maintaining the Nelnet payment plan, which includes applying payments, reconciling differences, and initiating the upload from Nelnet Tuition Management.
Processes refunds for student accounts and employee technology loans.
Monitor revenues and expenditures of federal grants for the college.
Responsible for Record retention for Business Office.
Maintain college vehicle usage spreadsheet.
Prepare federal grant expenditure reports and reconcile expenditures to the general ledger.
Provide support and assistance to federal grant administrators regarding the status of their individual grants.
Calculate and determine the College's indirect costs paid from federal grants.
Monitor those costs on an annual basis to ensure accuracy.
Calculate and post fringe benefits and employee deductions to applicable federal grants.
Other duties as assigned.
Assist With Maintaining updated Business Office policies and procedure manual.
Apply financial aid, student loan, scholarship checks and awards to student's accounts.
Assist with departmental assessment and establishment of key performance indicators based on the strategic plan.
Assist federal grant administrators in complying with grant regulations to include revision and comprehension of their individual budget areas and finalization and reconciliation with the general ledger.
Risk Management & Loss Prevention Activities Actively participate in and carry out activities in support of the College's Risk Management Program in a capacity appropriate to this position.
Monitor conditions, events, and circumstances present in the college operation to avoid potential torts or injuries to students, staff, or the general public, then communicate observations to the appropriate supervisor and/or Risk Management Committee.
Maintain a working knowledge of the college's emergency procedures and how to operate emergency phone systems; including internal/external call boxes.
Maintain confidentiality of all student and Business Office records.
Minimum Necessary Skills, Experience, and Educational Background Minimum Necessary Skills, Experience, and Educational Background Associate degree or related specialized training and three years work experience in a job-related skill required.
Good communication and public relation skills required.
Working knowledge of computer systems and software including word processing and spreadsheets.
Must have a detailed oriented accounting background with some knowledge of fund accounting preferred.
Must be able to work with a limited amount of supervision.
The ability to communicate successfully with clients of all ages, socio-economic status, sex, or race.
Spanish or French proficiency preferred.

General physical effort required includes, sitting, bending, reaching, and some lifting (20lbs.
or less) and the ability to place a work order for anything over that limit.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
